Quadrisol® I.v. 50 is A Sterile Solution For Intravenous Administration To Horses. One Ml Contains 50 Mg Vedaprofen, A Potent Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (nsaid) With Anti-inflammatory, Anti-pyretic And Non-narcotic Analgesic Activities. The Product Is Available In A 100 Ml Multi-dose Vial Containing 1.25 Mg/ml Chlorocresol As A Preservative.
indications
For the control of inflammation and relief of pain associated with musculo-skeletal disorders and soft tissue lesions (traumatic injuries and surgical trauma) in horses. In cases of surgical trauma, Quadrisol® i.v. 50 can be given prophylactically. This product is intended for use as the primary dose for Quadrisol® 100 oral gel in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and soft tissue lesions.
Quadrisol i.v. 50 Dosage And Administration
Quadrisol® I.v. 50 is For Use As A Single Intravenous Injection Of 4 Ml Per 100 Kg Body Weight (equivalent To 2 Mg/kg Vedaprofen).
it Is Recommended This Initial Dose Be Followed Up With Administration With Quadrisol® 100 Oral Gel At A Dose Of 1 Ml Per 100 Kg Body Weight (equivalent To 1 Mg/kg Vedaprofen) Given Every 12 Hours. This Treatment Should Not Begin Until At Least 24 Hours After The Injection.
treatment With Quadrisol® 100 Oral Gel Can Be Continued For A Maximum Of 14 Consecutive Days. If A Longer Duration Of Treatment Is Required, A 7 Day Rest Period Is Advised Before Resuming Treatment.
precautions
Caution should be made to ensure no NSAID’s are administered within 24 hours after injection of this product. Typical NSAID side effects such as lesions in the alimentary tract, soft faeces, urticaria and dullness in mental status can occur with Quadrisol® i.v. 50. These effects are reversible. If side effects occur, treatment should be discontinued. The potential also exists for intravenous haemolysis and gastrointestinal or renal lesions.
Contra-indications
The use of Quadrisol® i.v. 50 is contra-indicated in cases of impaired heart, liver or kidney function, alimentary tract disorders and just before and during parturition. Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals. Do not use in foals under the age of 6 months. Quadrisol® i.v. 50 must not be given with other NSAID's or glucocorticosteroids.
Warning
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
This drug is not to be administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food.
