Description

PUREVAX^® FeLV contains a nonadjuvanted suspension of a recombinant canarypox vectored vaccine expressing the env and gag genes of the feline leukemia virus. Safety and immunogenicity of this product have been demonstrated by vaccination and challenge tests in susceptible cats.

PureVax FeLV Indications

PUREVAX^® FeLV is recommended for the vaccination of healthy cats 8 weeks of age and older for the prevention of disease due to feline leukemia virus.

Dosage

Aseptically inject 1 mL (1 dose) subcutaneously into healthy cats 8 weeks of age and older. For primary vaccination, revaccinate with a second 1 mL dose 3 to 4 weeks later. Revaccinate annually with a single 1 mL dose. Diagnostic testing for FeLV prior to vaccination is recommended.

PRECAUTIONS: Store at 2-8°C. Do not use chemicals to sterilize syringes and needles. Inactivate all unused contents and discard container according to local regulations. Contains traces of gentamicin. The safety of this vaccine in pregnant cats has not been determined. In rare instances, administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine.
