Prefarrow Strep Shield Indications
For use in healthy swine as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Streptococcus suis serotype 2.Adjuvant
Aluminum hydroxide.Directions
Shake well before using. Administer 2 mL intramuscularly to gilts and sows 5 and 2 weeks prior to each farrowing to provide passive protection in the newborn pigs. Administer 2 mL intramuscularly to piglets at 3 and 5 weeks of age for active immunization.Precautions
Store out of direct sunlight at 2°-7°C (35°-45°F). DO NOT FREEZE. Use entire contents when first opened. Do not vaccinate within 21 days prior to slaughter. It is essential that newborn pigs receive colostrum from the vaccinated dam to ensure passive immunity. Anaphylactic reactions may occur. Symptomatic treatment: Epinephrine.U.S. Vet.
