See cautionary statements below.

Panacur Paste 10% Cautions

1) Certain species of small strongyles have become resistant to most anthelmintics belonging to the benzimidazole family of compounds, including fenbendazole. 2) In suspected cases of larval cyathosomosis, the prognosis is usually guarded since the underlying pathology can be severe without the animals showing marked clinical signs. 3) Consult your veterinarian regarding the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism in horses.

Panacur Paste 10% Dosage And Administration

Administer orally to horses at the following dosage:

25 g Tube: The contents of one 25 g syringe will deworm a 500 kg (1100 lb) horse.* Each 25 g syringe contains 2.5 g of fenbendazole. Fenbendazole given at the rate of 5 mg/kg (2.3 mg/lb) aids in the treatment of the listed parasites. Insert nozzle of syringe through the interdental space and deposit the drug on the back of the tongue.

*For foals and yearlings (less than 18 months of age) where ascarids are a common problem, one 25 g syringe for each 250 kg (550 lb) body weight is recommended.

290 g Tube: 1) The routine recommended dosage is 5 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight. This is equivalent to 5 g of paste per 100 kg (220 lb) of body weight. 2) In cases of larval cyathostomosis, administer this product at a daily dosage of 10 mg of fenbendazole per kg of body weight during five consecutive days. This is equivalent to 5 g of paste per 50 kg (110 lb) of body weight, administered during five consecutive days. 3) Foals and young horses under 18 months of age require a dose of 10 mg of fenbendazole per kg body weight for the treatment of ascarid infections. This is equivalent to 5 g of paste per 50 kg (110 lb) of body weight.
