Neutral SulfaThis treatment applies to the following species:
Triple Sulfonamide Solution
Active Ingredient(s): Each mL contains:
Chemically stabilized with dextrose, methylparaben and propylparaben as a preservative 0.26%.
The total sulphonamide content is equivalent to a solution containing 12.5% of sodium sulphonamides.
Neutral Sulfa Indications
Indicated for the treatment of infections in large animals in which the causative organisms are sensitive to sulphonamides.
Cattle: For foot rot, shipping fever complex, hemorrhagic septicemia, bacterial enteritis, upper respiratory infections of bacterial origin, acute mastitis, calf diphtheria, pyosepticemia (navel ill), and secondary infections associated with bacterial scours.
Swine: For bacterial enteritis, pneumonia-enteritis complex, upper respiratory infections and secondary infections associated with respiratory disease.
Dosage and Administration:
Cattle: For foot rot, shipping fever complex, hemorrhagic septicemia, bacterial enteritis, upper respiratory infections of bacterial origin, acute mastitis, calf diphtheria, pyosepticemia (navel ill), and secondary infections associated with bacterial scours:
The initial dose is 75 mL per 45 kg of body weight for the first day.
Subsequent dose is 25 mL per 45 kg of body weight every 12 hours for two (2) to four (4) additional days.
The medication may be administered in the drinking water provided that it is the sole source of water. Add 75 mL of NEUTRAL SULFA to each 4.5 L of water.
Swine: For bacterial enteritis, pneumonia-enteritis complex, upper respiratory infections and secondary infections associated with respiratory disease: Add 75 mL to each 4.5 L of water and administer the treated water as the sole source of drinking water for three (3) to five (5) days.
Caution(s): Provide ample drinking water at all times. If prolonged depression, blood-tinged urine or cloudy urine is noted, discontinue use of the drug and force liquids orally or intravenously to hasten elimination of the drug.
Do not administer NEUTRAL SULFA for more than five days. If symptoms persist for longer than two or three days, re-diagnose the condition.
For oral veterinary use only.
Note: The preparation may darken on standing, but the potency remains unaffected.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Warning(s): Milk taken from treated animals within 96 hours after the last treatment with this drug must not be used in food.
Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 10 days after the last treatment with this drug.
The drug is not to be administered to horses or ponies that are to be slaughtered for use in food.
