Description
NeoTet Soluble Concentrate is a powder containing both neomycin and oxytetracycline. This antibiotic combination is effective for the prevention or treatment of many diseases in both livestock and poultry. It may be administered in the drinking water or as a drench.
Contents
Each 100 grams contains 20 grams of Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride and Neomycin Sulfate equivalent to 14 grams of neomycin base, in a water soluble base.
Directions For Use
SWINE
Bacterial Enteritis (scours), Swine Dysentery (vibrionic dysentery, bloody scours, hemorrhagic dysentery) and Salmonellosis (paratyphoid, necrotic enteritis)
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200 L of drinking water for 4-5 days.
Prevention - Use 1/2 the treatment level.
Bacterial Respiratory Infections (pneumonia, pasteurellosis, bronchitis)
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 100 L of drinking water for 4-5 days.
Atrophic Rhinitis
NeoTet has no effect on the organism causing this disease, but it will aid in maintaining weight gains in the presence of this disease.
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200 L of drinking water until 14 days prior to slaughter.
CALVES
Scours (bacterial enteritis, calf scours)
Treatment - For herds, mix 100 g in 200 L of drinking water for 4 to 5 days.
To Drench - Mix 1 rounded teaspoonful per 100 kg body weight in 100 mL of water.
Prevention - Use 1/2 the treatment level for 4 to 5 days.
Bacterial Respiratory Infections (pneumonia and pasteurellosis associated with the shipping fever complex)
Treatment - For herds, mix 100 g in 100 L of drinking water for 4 to 5 days.
For Individual or Drench - Mix 1 rounded teaspoonful per 50 kg of body weight in 100 mL of water or milk.
CHICKENS AND TURKEYS
Chronic Respiratory Diseases (C.R.D., air sac infection)
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200-400 L of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
Prevention - Mix 100 g in 200-400 L of drinking water for the first 3 days, and for 1 day at each feed change (starter to grower).
Bluecomb* (transmissible enteritis) and Bacterial Enteritis
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200-400 L of drinking water for 3 days. Stop for 2 days, then treat for 2 more days if improvement is not noted.
Prevention - Mix 100 g in 400 L of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
Infectious Synovitis*
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200 L of drinking water for 5 days.
Infectious Sinusitis*
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200-400 L of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
Stress Conditions (such as when birds are moved, vaccinated, or exposed to extreme temperature changes)
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 200-400 L of drinking water for 3 to 5 days.
*Turkeys Only
MINK
Bacterial Enteritis
Treatment - Mix 100 g in 400 L of drinking water for 4 to 5 days.
Prevention - Use 1/2 of the treatment level.
Neotet Cautions
1. Fresh solutions should be prepared daily. Medicated water should be the only water source.
2. Recommended dosages are based on average water intake.
3. Use level and duration of medication period is dependent on the severity of symptoms and response to the treatment level used.
4. Use level is also dependent on the past history of disease incidence.
5. If symptoms persist, consult your Veterinarian.
Warnings
1. Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 14 days for swine, 30 days for calves, 7 days for chickens, and 14 days for turkeys after the latest treatment with this drug.
2. This product must not be used in lactating dairy cattle, laying chickens, or replacement chickens over 16 weeks of age.
Directions For Automatic Medicators
Prepare a stock solution by mixing 500 g in 7.6 L of water. This solution will medicate 1000 L of drinking water at approximately 100 g per 200 L.
