Metz Iodine Detergent Indications
An iodine detergent germicide.
Dosage and AdministrationMilking machines: After each use, flush with warm water. Prepare a cleaning solution by adding one (1) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT for each five (5) gallons of water (provides 25 ppm available iodine). Disassemble the machine. Immerse and brush in the cleaning solution. Rinse in a separate solution containing one-half (1/2) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT for each five (5) gallons of water to prevent recontamination from the rinse water (provides 12.5 ppm available iodine). Immediately before re-use, sanitize by flushing with one-quarter (1/4) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT in 10 quarts of water.
Bulk tanks: Immediately after milk is removed rinse with warm water. Place sufficient warm water in the tank to wash effectively and add one (1) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT for each five (5) gallons of water (provides 25 ppm available iodine). Brush thoroughly, drain and rinse for two (2) minutes. Valves should be removed and washed in a similar solution and rinsed. Where the code permits, sanitize by brushing with a solution containing one-quarter (1/4) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT in 10 quarts of water immediately before re-use.
Udder washing: Prepare a solution containing one-half (1/2) ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT in 10 quarts of warm water (provides 25 ppm available iodine). Just before milking wipe udders and teats with a clean cloth or paper towel saturated with the solution. Use a clean towel for each cow. Do not return used towels to the solution.
Precaution(s): Keep capped in a cool place. Keep from freezing.
Caution(s): Keep out of the reach of children.
METZ IODINE DETERGENT is a disinfectant containing phosphoric acid and iodine. Do not take internally. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid the contamination of food. Avoid getting the concentrate in the eyes or on skin. In case of contact, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If relief is not obtained, get medical attention.
