Metz Iodine DetergentThis treatment applies to the following species:
“Contains Biodegradable Detergents”
(Providing 1.75% titratable Iodine)
Nonylphenoxypoly (ethyleneoxy) ethanol-iodine complex
CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN
METZ IODINE DETERGENT contains phosphoric acid and iodine. Do not take internally. “Harmful if swallowed.” Avoid getting in eyes or on skin. In case of contact; For eyes flush gently with water for 15 minutes and get immediate medical attention. For skin flush with water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists get medical attention. If swallowed, drink large amounts of water and get immediate medical from a physician or poison control center. Do not induce vomiting. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage. Measures against circulatory shock, respiratory depression and convulsions may be needed.
Udder Washing Directions
Prepare an udder washing solution by mixing 1/2 ounce of METZ IODINE DETERGENT with 10 quarts of warm water. Solution will provide 25 PPM available iodine. Just before milking wash the base of the udder and the teats. Use a fresh towel for each cow. Do not dip used towel back into solution. When solution loses its bright amber color or becomes visibly dirty, discard and provide fresh solution. Do not use for sanitizing equipment.
