Marcicide II Indications

MARCICIDE II is effective against a wide variety of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is also a deodorant and is effective in controlling odors that are bacterial in origin.

MARCICIDE II mixes with water to form clear, stable use solutions. Use solutions are noncorrosive and nonstaining to plastic, vinyl, synthetics, enamel, tile and most common metals.

The disinfectant is effective at 6 oz./gallon against Pseudomonas aeruginosa PRD-10, Salmonella choleraesuis ATCC 10708, and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 when tested by the A.O.A.C. Use Dilution Test Method for precleaned, hard, nonporous surfaces.

The disinfectant is also an effective virucide at 6 oz./gallon for Influenza virus, type A, Brazil on inanimate, environmental surfaces.

The product may be used for cleaning and deodorizing, one-step cleaning and disinfection, or disinfection of precleaned, nonporous, inanimate, hard surfaces.

When applied as directed to precleaned hard, nonporous surfaces, this disinfectant also kills the following organisms at 6 oz. per gallon: Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterobacter aerogenes, Shigella sonnei.

Marcicide II Dosage And Administration

It is a violation of federal law to use the product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Select the proper dilution of MARCICIDE II for use from the directions that follow. Apply the use solution with a clean mop, sponge, cloth, squeegee, or mechanical scrubber.

Prepare fresh use solutions daily. Do not re-use solutions. Discard solutions when they become visibly soiled. For disinfection, thoroughly wet the surfaces to be treated. Surfaces must remain moist for at least 10 minutes to assure proper germicidal action.

The product may be used for cleaning and disinfecting hard, nonporous, inanimate, environmental surfaces (glass, metal, glazed porcelain, linoleum, tile, smooth leather, vinyl, enameled and finished wood surfaces) on walls, floors, appliances and furnishings.

Cleaning: To clean and deodorize or to preclean prior to disinfection, use 3 to 12 oz. of MARCICIDE II per gallon of water depending upon the soil level of the area to be cleaned.

Disinfecting:

Hospitals and veterinary clinics: Use 7 1/2 oz. of MARCICIDE II per gallon of water (1 part to 16 parts water) for one-step cleaning and disinfection of areas with light to medium soil loads. For heavily soiled areas, preclean as described earlier and then disinfect with MARCICIDE II at 6 oz. per gallon of water (1 part to 20 parts water).

Industrial areas, restrooms, food and meat processing plants (nonfood processing areas), other nonmedical uses: Preclean surfaces. Then, disinfect with a solution of 4 oz. of MARCICIDE II in a gallon of water (1 part to 31 parts water). Alternatively, clean and disinfect in one operation using 7 1/2 oz. of MARCICIDE II per gallon of water.

For deodorizing garbage cans, garbage trucks, industrial waste receptacles, and garbage handling equipment. It is important to preclean for the product to perform properly. Then, apply a wetting concentration of 16 oz. of MARCICIDE II per gallon of water.

For mildew control: Follow the directions for hospital disinfection. Repeat the treatment every seven (7) days or when new growth appears.

MARCICIDE II may be used through automatic floor scrubbing equipment.

MARCICIDE II must not be used on food contact surfaces.

Precaution(s)

Store only in a tightly closed, original container in a secure area inaccessible to children. Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.

Pesticide wastes are acutely hazardous. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of federal law. If the wastes cannot be disposed of according to label instructions, contact a State Pesticide or Environmental Control Agency, or the hazardous waste representative at the nearest EPA Regional Office for guidance.

Do not re-use the empty container. Triple rinse the empty container with water. Return the metal drums to a reconditioner or puncture and dispose of them in a sanitary landfill or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities. Plastic containers may be disposed of in a sanitary landfill, incinerated or, if allowed by local authorities, by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke.
