For topical application on the skin to disinfect superficial wounds, cuts, abrasions, insect bites and minor bruises.Iodine Tincture 7% Dosage And Administration
If necessary, clip hair from the area to be treated and cleanse with soap and water. Apply iodine with a swab.Contraindication(s)
Not for use in body cavities or in deep wounds. Do not use on burns.Precaution(s)
Flammable! Keep away from heat and an open flame. Keep the container closed when not in use. Store at 36°-86°F (2°-30°C). Protect from light.Iodine Tincture 7% Caution(s)
Poison. May be fatal if swallowed.For animal use only.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not apply under a bandage. Irritation may occur if used on tender skin areas. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. In case of deep or puncture wounds or serious burns consult a veterinarian. If redness, irritation, or swelling persists or increases, discontinue use and consult a veterinarian.
Antidote(s)
If swallowed give starch paste, milk, bread, egg white or activated charcoal. A 5% solution of sodium thiosulfate (photographic “hypo”) may be administered orally at a rate of 10 mL per kilogram of body weight.Presentation
