Aeromonas Salmonicida Bacterin

For Use in Animals Only

This bacterin contains formalin inactivated cultures of Aeromonas salmonicida sub-species salmonicida in a liquid emulsion with an aluminum phosphate based adjuvant.

Uses

As an aid in the prevention of furunculosis caused by typical isolates of Aeromonas salmonicida by injection of healthy salmonids.

Vaccination Program

This bacterin has been demonstrated to be safe and effective when administered by manual intraperitoneal injection to salmonids 5 g or larger. Vaccination should precede exposure of vaccinates to the disease agent by at least 400 degree-days (number of holding days multiplied by the mean water temperature).

Furogen Dosage And Administration

Fish are anaesthetized to immobilize and given a 0.1 mL injection intraperitoneally one fin length ahead of the pelvic fins along the midline.

Furogen Cautions

1. Shake product well before using.

2. Store between 2 - 8 °C (35 - 46°F). DO NOT FREEZE.

3. Use entire contents when first opened

4. Before use by injection, the temperature of the vaccinal solution should be brought within 2°C of hatchery water ambient temperature.

5. Vaccinate healthy fish only.

6. Do not vaccinate fish within 21 days of slaughter.

7. If accidental injection of the operator occurs, the operator should discontinue activity and seek medical attention immediately.
