Weanling Kittens

At 450 g (16 oz.) or 3-4 weeks of age kittens will lap. Mix Feline Mammalac solution with cat food to produce a gruel-like mix. Gradually increase the cat food proportion until the kitten is weaned onto solid food. Ensure clean water is available.

Additional Guidelines

Whenever possible kittens should receive colostrum (queen's first milk) since this supplies antibodies essential to disease resistance in early life.

Feline Mammalac solution should be fed at body temperature.

Small, weak kittens should receive 6 to 8 feedings per day whereas older, stronger kittens should receive 4 to 6. Kittens should gain 50 to 100+ grams per week.

Stool consistency provides a measure of the appropriate feeding level. If diarrhea develops, reduce concentration of the solution (i.e. maintain water level fed but reduce the level of Feline Mammalac powder by 10-20% until stool consistency returns to normal). Should diarrhea persist contact your veterinarian.

Cleanliness of feeding equipment (nursing bottle/bowl) is extremely important. Always wash with hot, soapy water, rinse and dry well after each use.

Queens: (last Month Of Gestation)

For every 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight supplement the regular ration with 12 grams (2 level tablespoons) of Feline Mammalac.

Lactating Queens:

For every 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight supplement the regular ration with 24 grams (4 level tablespoons) of Feline Mammalac.

Old And Convalescent Cats

For every 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of body weight supplement the regular ration with 8 grams (1.25 level tablespoon) of Feline Mammalac.

Ensure consumption is spread through the day by thorough mixing with the regular ration or by multiple feedings.

Warning

Nutritional cataracts have been reported in animals raised on milk replacer. Kittens fed Feline Mammalac should also receive mother's milk if possible, and be introduced to kitten food by 4 weeks of age.

Storage

Moisture and high temperature will degrade Feline Mammalac.

Store, sealed in a cool dry place. May be stored indefinitely in the freezer. Do not mix more than will be consumed within 12 hours.

Packaging

Supplied in 200 g containers.
