Fel-o-vax Fiv
This treatment applies to the following species:Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Vaccine
Killed Virus
For the vaccination of healthy cats 8 weeks of age or older as an aid in the prevention of infection with feline immunodeficiency virus. Efficacy was demonstrated in cats that received three doses of vaccine and were challenged one year post vaccination with a heterologous FIV strain. In one study the vaccine protected 67% of the vaccinates against infection (any cat that showed evidence of integration of the viral genome into its white blood cells was considered infected) while 74% of the controls became persistently viremic. In a more recent one year study, the vaccine protected 84% of the vaccinates against infection while 90% of the controls became persistently viremic.
Administration And Dosage
Inject one 1 mL dose subcutaneously using aseptic technique. Administer 2 additional doses at intervals of 2 to 3 weeks. Annual revaccination is recommended.Infovax-id® System

The INFOVAX-ID System provides a simple and effective method of recording pertinent information on the vaccines administered to animals in a veterinary practice.
The INFOVAX-ID System is a unique label design that allows easy removal of the label from the vial, while maintaining sufficient adhesive properties for placement of the removed label onto the animal's medical chart.
The INFOVAX-ID System provides an accurate, thorough and legible method of vaccination record keeping. Use of the INFOVAX-ID System allows for easy retrieval of the vaccine's tradename, antigen content, expiration date, serial number, storage requirements and unique Fort Dodge vaccine color coding.
For vaccines requiring reconstitution, remove label from both vials and affix both labels to the animal's medical chart.
Using The Infovax-id System

Grasp the lower right hand corner of the tab at the arrow marked “Peel Here” between your thumb and forefinger (figure 1). |

Pull steadily at a slight upward angle until the top portion of the label is separated from the vial (figure 2). |

Place the label on the animal's medical chart. Press down on the label to ensure adhesion. |

Fel-O-Vax FIV Caution
Store in the dark at 2° to 7°C (35° to 45°F). AVOID FREEZING. SHAKE WELL. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine.Thimerosal, neomycin and polymyxin B added as preservatives.
