Emulsibac APPThis treatment applies to the following species:
Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae Bacterin, Serotypes 1, 5 and 7

Active Ingredient(s): The bacterin contains inactivated Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms (serotypes 1, 5, and 7). It is adjuvanted with Emulsigen® (brand of emulsified paraffin). Prepared from young cultures of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms. Chemically inactivated.
Contains polymyxin B sulfate and gentamicin sulfate as preservatives.
Emulsibac APP Indications
For the vaccination of healthy swine over four weeks of age against pneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms. The bacterin has been shown to protect susceptible swine against intranasal challenge with virulent serotype(s) 1, 5, and 7 Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae organisms.
Dosage and AdministrationShake before and occasionally during use. Administer 2 mL intramuscularly or subcutaneously in the lower flank or immediately behind the ear. Use sterile syringes and needles. Repeat in 21-28 days. The repeat dose is essential for the maximum immune response. If an outbreak occurs in older swine, administer a third injection at that time.
Annual revaccination of breeding swine is recommended.
Precaution(s): Store at not over 45°F (7°C). Keep from freezing.
Caution(s): Use the entire contents when first opened. Vaccination, especially repeated injections, can result in anaphylaxis.
Antidote(s): Administer epinephrine.
Warning(s): Do not vaccinate within 60 days of slaughter.
Presentation: 100 mL (50 dose) and 250 mL (125 dose) vials.
