B1 Type, B1 Strain, Mass. Type,

Live Virus

Intraocular Or Coarse Spray

STORE IN REFRIGERATOR UNDER 7°C (45°F)

DO NOT FREEZE

For vaccination of healthy chickens against Newcastle disease and infectious Bronchitis (Mass. Type) as directed. For use in BROILERS or initial vaccination of replacement chickens.

For vaccination of healthy chickens against Newcastle Disease and Infectious Bronchitis (Mass. Type) by intraocular route at 4 weeks of age or older, or by spray at one day of age.

Description

This vaccine is formulated from a very mild strain of infectious bronchitis of the Mass. type and the B1 strain of Newcastle virus. The viruses are grown under exacting standards of quality control in eggs produced by healthy chickens in closed supervised flocks.

Broilerbron B1 producing a very mild reaction, i.e. snick, is designed only for use in broilers or initial vaccination of other chickens.

Broilerbron B1 Indications For Use

This vaccine is recommended for vaccination of broilers or initial vaccination of chickens at 4 weeks of age or older, by the intraocular route against Newcastle disease and infectious bronchitis (Mass. type). When this vaccine is used for initial vaccination of replacement chickens, less mild vaccines, such as Ava-Bron-H-N-63® should be given at least 8 weeks after first vaccination.

Broilerbron B1 may be administered to healthy 1 day old chickens by coarse spray application.

Vaccination Programs

Many factors must be considered in determining the proper vaccination program for a particular farm or poultry operation. To be fully effective, the vaccine must be administered to healthy immunocompetent chickens held in a proper environment under good management. In addition, the response may be modified by the age of the chickens and their immune status. Seldom does one vaccination under field conditions produce complete protection for all individuals in a given flock. The amount of protection required will vary with the type of operation and the degree of exposure that a flock is likely to encounter. For these reasons a program of periodic revaccination may be required.

Precautions

Only vaccinate healthy chickens. Consult your poultry pathologist for further recommendations based on conditions existing in your area at any given time. The vaccination program for replacement pullets should not be started after chickens are 16 weeks of age. Chickens should not be placed on contaminated premises. Exposure should be avoided immediately after vaccination, because it takes up to 10 days to develop resistance. All susceptible poultry, on the same premises should be vaccinated at the same time. If this is not possible, then strict isolation and separate caretakers should be employed for non-vaccinated units. Efforts should be taken to reduce stress conditions at the time the vaccine is administered.
