Bio-Meth Indications

For use as a dietary supplement for horses, when a biotin and methionine deficiency exists.

Bio-Meth Dosage And Administration

The usual dose for a 1,100 pound (500 kg) horse is 15 mg biotin and 5 g DL-Methionine (2 slightly rounded teaspoonfuls) per day. For heavier horses, double the above dosage. The dosage for ponies is 1 slightly rounded teaspoonful per day.

Note: 1 slightly rounded teaspoonful weighs approximately 3.3 grams and contains 7.5 mg Biotin and 2.5 g DL-Methionine. A convenient teaspoon measure is included with each package.

Each 400 g bottle of BIO-METH Powder is a 60 day supply for a 1,000 to 1,200 pound horse. BIO-METH can be easily top dressed or mixed with the daily ration.

Discussion

Recent studies show that 15 mg of biotin fed daily dramatically improves hoof condition. Usually improvement in hoof horn strength is seen in 3 to 5 months, but biotin supplementation should be continued for 9 to 12 months or more if necessary. Permanent supplementation at a lower nutritional level of biotin may be adopted to maintain healthy hooves.
