Bovine Rhinotracheitis-virus Diarrhea-parainfluenza3 Vaccine

Modified Live Virus

Haemophilus Somnus Bacterin

Veterinary Use Only

Bar Vac 3/Somnugen Indications

Recommended for the vaccination of healthy, susceptible cattle as an aid in the reduction of diseases caused by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis, bovine viral diarrhea type 1 and parainfluenza3 viruses, and as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by Haemophilus somnus.

Directions

Rehydrate the modified live virus vaccine with the accompanying bottle of liquid bacterin. Shake well and use immediately.

Dosage

Using aseptic technique, inject 2 mL intramuscularly or subcutaneously. Repeat annually. Revaccinate with bacterin fraction in 21 days. Cattle vaccinated before 6 months of age should be revaccinated at 6 months.

Note

It is possible that healthy appearing cattle can be persistently infected with, or incubating virulent BVD virus at time of vaccination. In view of these findings and suggested causes, BVD vaccine is contraindicated in persistently infected cattle and use should be limited to healthy, immunocompetent, unstressed, nonpregnant cattle.

Precautions

Store in dark at 2-7°C. Avoid freezing. Use entire contents when first opened. Stressed cattle should not be vaccinated. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Do not use in pregnant cows or in calves nursing pregnant cows. Burn containers and all unused contents. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur. Antidote: Epinephrine.
