Active Ingredient(s)

This product is a chlorhexidine solution that contains:

1,6-di (N-p-chlorophenyldiguanido) hexane digluconate

2.0% w/w

Isopropyl alcohol

1.0% w/w

Inert Ingredients

97.0% w/w

Contains artificial color.

Bactrasan Solution Indications

For use in preparation of a 0.5% solution for dipping teats as an aid in the control of mastitis-causing bacteria, such as Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis, Staphylococcus aureus, E coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa on teats.

Bactrasan Solution Dosage And Administration

Directions for Dilution:

To prepare 1 gallon of a 0.5% solution for dipping teats, mix 32 fluid ounces (1 qt) of BACTRASAN™ Solution with 96 fluid ounces (3 qts) of clean water* or distilled water in a clean 1-gallon container.

Alternatively, mix 32 fluid ounces (1 qt) of BACTRASAN™ Solution with 90 fluid ounces of clean water* or distilled water and 6 fluid ounces of glycerin in a clean 1-gallon container.

*Precipitate may occur with certain types of water used for dilution. It is preferable to use distilled water or deionized water.

Directions for Use of the 0.5% Solution: Dip each teat into the 0.5% solution immediately after each milking. Thoroughly wash teats and udder immediately prior to next milking.

Teat dipping should start at least one week before the cow freshens and continue until four days or more after drying off.

Precaution(s)

Store at room temperature. Do not allow to freeze. Avoid contamination of feed and foodstuffs. Rinse empty container thoroughly with water and properly destroy by crushing or burial.

Bactrasan Solution Caution(s)

Dilute with the proper amount of water before use as a teat dip. Do not use the concentrate as a teat dip.

Warning(s)

May be irritating to eyes and mucous membranes. If contact occurs, flush with copious amounts of water. Call a physician for treatment of eyes. May be harmful if swallowed.

For external animal use only.

Keep out of reach of children.
