For Use In Feed Or Drinking Water

Warning

Keep out of reach of children. Treated animals must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 7 days after the latest treatment with this drug. Milk taken from treated animals during treatment and within 48 hours after the latest treatment must not be used as food. This drug must not be used in horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food.

Active Ingredient:

acepromazine maleate, USP

1.25 g/225 g

(approx. 20 mg acepromazine maleate per 5 mL or 1 small scoop, 60 mg acepromazine maleate per 15 mL or 1 rounded large scoop)

Atravet Soluble Granules Indications

For use in cattle, horses and sows as an aid in sedating/restraining animals before examination and treatment. As an aid in preventing viciousness in sows.

Dosage

Cattle - 60-120 Mg (15-30 Ml Or 1-2 Rounded Large Scoops) Per 454 Kg Body Weight.

horses - 20-40 Mg (5-10 Ml Or 1-2 Small Scoops) Per 454 Kg Body Weight.

sows - 20 Mg (5 Ml Or One Small Scoop) Per 100 Kg Body Weight Twice Daily From The First Signs Of Farrowing. Discontinue Once Farrowing Is Completed.

contraindication

Phenothiazine derivatives are contraindicated in animals being treated with organophosphates, succinylcholine or other cholinesterase inhibitors. Epinephrine is contraindicated in the treatment of acepromazine maleate overdosage.

Atravet Soluble Granules Caution

In horses, paralysis of the retractor penis muscle has been associated with the use of phenothiazine-derivative tranquilizers. This risk should be duly considered prior to the administration of acepromazine maleate to male horses (castrated and uncastrated). Use lower doses and use with caution when administering to animals with hepatic dysfunction, cardiac disease or general debilitation due to possible prolongation of effects.
