Argus Sc/st
This treatment applies to the following species:Salmonella Choleraesuis Vaccine
Avirulent Live Culture
Salmonella choleraesuis vaccine is used as an aid in the prevention of pneumonia, diarrhea, septicemia and mortality caused by Salmonella choleraesuis and as an aid in control of disease caused by Salmonella typhimurium and an aid in control of Salmonella typhimurium shedding.
Directions
Administer to healthy swine 3 weeks of age or older.
Water Administration
This product was developed to be used exclusively by the oral route. Aseptically rehydrate the contents of the desiccated vial with enclosed diluent. Shake well. Add to the water delivery system using the appropriate ratio to achieve the delivery of 1 mL of vaccine per pig. Water may be withheld for 1-2 hours before vaccination. Occasional remixing of the vaccine solution 2 to 3 times during the vaccination procedure aids in assuring a uniform dose for all swine.
Water Delivery Of Vaccine
Do not open or mix Argus SC/ST™ until ready to vaccinate.
Remove all medications, sanitizers and disinfectants from drinking water before initiating oral vaccination.
Flush watering system with non-chlorinated/non-treated clean water to eliminate any antibacterial agents.
Withhold water for one to two (1-2) hours before vaccination.
Rehydrate Each 100 Dose Vial Of Argus Sc/st™ With Accompanying 30 Ml Blushadow™ Diluent.
Set proportioner to deliver 30 mL (1 oz) of hydrated Argus SC/ST™ per 3.75 liters (1 U.S. gallon) of water.
If necessary, make a dilution, according to Table 1, using a clean container with clean non-treated water.
Insert proportioner hose into the stock solution with the Argus SC/ST™ and start water flow until all vaccine solution has been consumed. Flush the vaccine container with clean non-treated water. The pigs should consume vaccine within the first 3-4 hours after hydration of the vaccine.
Once the Argus SC/ST™ has been dispensed and the proportioner has delivered all fluids, return to non-treated water flow. Do not use antibiotics, sulfonamides or furans in feed or water for 3 days before and 3 days after vaccination.

1Calculations are based on an average daily water consumption of 15% of body weight. Young animals and lactating sows may consume up to 20% of body weight.
Example
For vaccination of 100 pigs, average weight 12 kg (25 lbs): Identify the row for 12 kg (25 lbs) pigs and then select the average water consumption values for 12 kg pigs (28.5 litres per 100 pigs per 4 hours) or 25 lb pigs (7.5 gallons per 100 pigs per 4 hours). Rehydrate Argus SC/ST™ with the provided diluent. Add the rehydrated Argus SC/ST™ to enough clean water (approximately 122 mL [4 oz]) to make 225 mL (7.5 ounces) of final stock solution. Deliver the stock solution at the rate of 30 mL (1-oz) per 3.75 liters (1 US gallon). If you require additional assistance please call 1 888 306-0069.
Precautions
Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Do not use antibiotics, sulfonamides or furans in feed or water for 3 days before and 3 days after vaccination. In case of anaphylactoid reaction, epinephrine should be administered immediately. Store at 2°C-7°C (35°F-45°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Burn containers and all unused contents. For Veterinary Use Only
