Description
Anthelcide EQ paste is a formulation containing 227 mg/g of oxibendazole, a broad-spectrum benzimidazole anthelmintic. Each syringe contains 24 g of paste.Anthelcide* EQ Paste Indications
For the treatment of parasitic infections caused by the adult stage of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus, S. equinus, and Triodontophorus spp.), small strongyles (Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicocyclus spp., Cyanthostomum spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., and Gyalocephalus spp.), ascarids (Parascaris equorum), pinworms, including L4 larval stage (Oxyuris equi), and threadworms (Strongyloides westeri) in horses.Dosage
Administer orally the equivalent of 10 mg (15 mg for threadworms) of oxibendazole, per kg (2.2 lb) body weight. Each mark on the syringe delivers enough paste to treat 45 kg (30 kg for threadworms). Horses maintained on premises where reinfection is likely to occur should be retreated in 6 to 8 weeks.Dosage Table

Administration
Determine the weight of the horse and dial the correct setting on the plunger, having the side of the wheel nearest the barrel on the desired mark. Remove the cap from the syringe. Insert the tip of the syringe into the side of the animal's mouth between the incisor and molar teeth and press the plunger down as far as it will go, depositing the paste on the back of the tongue.Anthelcide* EQ Paste Caution
Repeat dosing with this drug is not advocated in pregnant mares or breeding stallions.Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in severely debilitated horses or in horses suffering from infectious disease, toxemia, or colic.Warning
This drug is not to be administered to horses that are to be slaughtered for use in food. Keep out of reach of children.Storage
