Serious side effects of T-Stat

Along with its needed effects, erythromycin topical (the active ingredient contained in T-Stat) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Other side effects of T-Stat

Some side effects of erythromycin topical may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects.

General

The most commonly reported side effects included burning, dryness, erythema, itching, and peeling.[Ref]

Local

Very common (10% or more): Burning/burning sensation (up to 25%)

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Desquamation, dryness, erythema, itching, oiliness, peeling[Ref]

Dermatologic

Frequency not reported: Mild to severe skin irritation, skin tenderness[Ref]

Hypersensitivity

Frequency not reported: Generalized urticarial reaction[Ref]

Generalized urticarial reactions required systemic steroid treatment.[Ref]

Ocular

Frequency not reported: Eye irritation[Ref]
