Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking sulfacetamide sodium / sulfur topical: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

• new or worsening skin rash;

• joint pain;

• fever; or

• mouth sores.

Less serious side effects may include redness, warmth, swelling, itching, stinging, burning, or irritation of treated skin.
