Polysporin Ointment

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Polysporin Ointment. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Polysporin Ointment:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); burning; redness; swelling.

Polysporin

Adverse reactions have occurred with the anti-infective components of Polysporin Ophthalmic Ointment. The exact incidence is not known. Reactions occurring most often are allergic sensitization reactions including itching, swelling, and conjunctival erythema. More serious hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, have been reported rarely.

Local irritation on installation has also been reported.
