Pemirolast

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Pemirolast:

Burning sensation in the eye; dry eyes; eye discomfort; headache; runny nose; sneezing.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Pemirolast:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); fever.

Side Effects by Body System

Respiratory

Respiratory side effects have included rhinitis and cold or flu symptoms in 10% to 25% of patients. Less common side effects that have occurred in less than 5% of patients have included bronchitis, cough, sinusitis, sneezing, and nasal congestion.

Nervous system

Nervous system side effects have included headache in 10% to 25% of patients.

Ocular

Ocular side effects have included burning, dry eye, foreign body sensation, and ocular discomfort in less than 5% of patients.

Hypersensitivity

Hypersensitivity reactions have been reported in less than 5% of patients.

Genitourinary

Genitourinary side effects have included dysmenorrhea (less than 5%).

Musculoskeletal

Musculoskeletal side effects have included backache in less than 5% of patients.
