For the Consumer
Applies to chlorpheniramine / phenylephrine: oral drops, oral liquid, oral suspension, oral suspension extended release, oral tablet, oral tablet chewable, oral tablet extended release
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking chlorpheniramine / phenylephrine: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

fast or uneven heart rate;
-
mood changes;
-
tremor, seizure (convulsions);
-
easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;
-
urinating less than usual or not at all;
-
feeling short of breath; or
-
dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, chest pain, uneven heartbeats, seizure).
Less serious side effects of chlorpheniramine / phenylephrine may include:

dizziness, drowsiness;
-
dry mouth, nose, or throat;
-
constipation;
-
blurred vision; or
-
feeling nervous or restless.

General side effects including drowsiness, lassitude, giddiness, and increased irritability or excitement have been reported.
Gastrointestinal
Gastrointestinal side effects including nausea and dryness of mouth have been reported.
Cardiovascular
Cardiovascular side effects including palpitations and flushing have been reported.
