Side Effects of Lodoxamide - for the Consumer
Lodoxamide
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Lodoxamide:
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Lodoxamide:Blurred vision; burning, stinging, or itching in the eye; dry eyes; eye discomfort; headache; red or bloodshot eyes; sensation of something in the eye; tearing.
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); eye discharge; scales on the eyelid or eyelash; severe or persistent burning, stinging, or itching; vision changes; swelling of the eye or eyelid.

Ocular
Ocular side effects have included burning, discomfort, or stinging upon instillation in 15% of patients. Ocular itching/pruritus, blurred vision, dry eye, tearing, discharge, hyperemia, crystalline deposits and foreign body sensation have been reported in 1% to 5% of patients. Corneal erosion, scales on eyelids or eyelashes, eye pain, eye edema, eye swelling, warm sensation in the eye, ocular fatigue, chemosis, corneal abrasion, keratopathy, keratitis, blepharitis, sticky sensation, epitheliopathy, anterior chamber cells, allergy, and blepharitis have been reported in less than 1% of patients.
Nervous system
Nervous system side effects have included headache (1.5%), and dizziness, somnolence, or heat sensation in less than 1% of patients.
Gastrointestinal
Gastrointestinal side effects have included nausea and stomach discomfort in less than 1% of patients.
Respiratory
Respiratory side effects have included sneezing and dry nose in less than 1% of patients.
Dermatologic
Dermatological side effects have included rash (<1%).
