Respiratory
Respiratory side effects have included cough and nasopharyngitis.
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity side effects have included urticaria, angioedema, bronchial hyperactivity, and localized skin exfoliation.
Musculoskeletal
Musculoskeletal side effects have included myalgia.
Gastrointestinal
Gastrointestinal side effects have included diarrhea, flatulence, indigestion, abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and pancreatitis.
Nervous system
Nervous system side effects have included headache and asthenia.
Dermatologic
Dermatologic side effects have included pruritus.
Metabolic
Metabolic side effects of long-term treatment with metformin has been associated with a decrease in vitamin B12 absorption which may very rarely result in clinically significant vitamin B12 deficiency (e.g., megaloblastic anemia).
Endocrine
Endocrine side effects have included hypoglycemia.
