As well as its needed effects, ioflupane I 123 may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking ioflupane I 123:

Incidence not known
  • Difficulty with breathing or swallowing
  • fever
  • hives
  • itching skin
  • nausea
  • reddening of the skin, especially around the ears
  • swelling of the eyes, face, or inside of the nose
  • unusual tiredness or weakness

Some ioflupane I 123 side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • dry mouth
  • feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  • headache
  • sensation of spinning

  • Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site

Gastrointestinal side effects have included nausea and dry mouth.

Nervous system

Local side effects have included injection site pain.
