Dipivefrin

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Dipivefrin:

Blurred vision; burning; eye redness; headache; itching; sensitivity to light; stinging.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur when using Dipivefrin:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); decrease in vision; eye pain; fast heartbeat; irregular heartbeat; swelling of the eye or eyelids.

Dipivefrin

Cardiovascular Effects: Tachycardia, arrhythmias and hypertension have been reported with ocular administration of epinephrine.

Local Effects: The most frequent side effects reported with Dipivefrin hydrochloride alone were injection in 6.5% of patients and burning and stinging in 6%. Follicular conjunctivitis, mydriasis and allergic reactions to Dipivefrin have been reported infrequently. Epinephrine therapy can lead to adrenochrome deposits in the conjunctiva and cornea.
