Dermatologic

Dermatologic side effects have rarely included skin eruptions.

Gastrointestinal

Gastrointestinal side effects have included nausea, constipation, and dryness of the mouth.

Genitourinary

Genitourinary side effects have included minor menstrual irregularities and urinary hesitancy.

Hematologic

Hematologic side effects have included blood dyscrasias, including agranulocytosis.

Hepatic

Periodic blood counts and liver function tests are recommended when chlordiazepoxide treatment is prolonged.

Hepatic side effects have rarely included jaundice and hepatic dysfunction.

Ocular

Ocular side effects have included blurring of vision.

Nervous system

The elderly and debilitated may be more susceptible to the side effects of chlordiazepoxide. Drowsiness, ataxia, and confusion have occasionally been reported at the lower dosage ranges.

Nervous system side effects have included drowsiness and confusion. Changes in EEG patterns (low-voltage fast activity) has also been reported during and after chlordiazepoxide treatment. Rarely, syncope has been reported.

Other

Other side effects have rarely included reports of increased and decreased libido.

Other

Edema has been reported during chlordiazepoxide therapy.
