Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking acetic acid / hydrocortisone otic: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Other less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:

• mild stinging, itching, burning, or irritation in the ear;

• loss of appetite;

• weight loss (especially in a child); or

• weakness.
