Patient assistance programs (PAPs) are usually sponsored by pharmaceutical companies and provide free or discounted medicines to low income or uninsured and under-insured people who meet specific guidelines. Eligibility requirements vary for each program.

Elligibility requirements:

  1. The patient must have insurance
  2. Have an income at or below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level.
  3. Medication must be used for medically appropriate condition.
  4. Call for most recent medications as the list is subject to change and the medication for which you are seeking assistance must treat the disease directly.

Elligibility requirements:

  1. The patient must have a relapsing form of MS or Crohn's Disease
  2. The patient must be a US citizen or legal resident.
  3. Out-of-pocket expense for a 28 days supply is no more than $35 first 3 shipments are free; there is a $10 copay each month after that. patient remains eligible for up to 12 months.

Provider: HealthWell Foundation Copay Program

Elligibility requirements:

  1. Applicants with insurance are eligible.
  2. The Foundation considers an individual's financial, medical, and insurance situation when determining who is eligible for assistance. Families with incomes below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level may qualify. Cost of living in a particular city or state is also taken into account.
  3. Medication must be used for medically appropriate condition.
  4. The patient must also be residing in the US.
  5. This program provides financial assistance to eligible individuals to cover coinsurance, copayments, healthcare premiums and deductibles for certain treatments. Also, for those who are eligible for health insurance, but cannot afford the insurance premium, the foundation may be able to help by paying some or all of the medical portion of insurance premiums. The patient is being treated for a specific disease for which funding is available and has insurance that covers the treatment for this disease.
