If you become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Typhoid Vi Polysaccharide Vaccine during pregnancy. It is unknown if Typhoid Vi Polysaccharide Vaccine is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you are using Typhoid Vi Polysaccharide Vaccine , check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Typhoid vaccine, inactivated Pregnancy Warnings

Inactivated typhoid vaccine has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Typhoid vaccine should only be given during pregnancy if clearly needed. As a precaution, the manufacturer recommends deferring vaccination until the second or third trimester to minimize the possibility of teratogenicity.

Typhoid vaccine, inactivated Lactation Warnings

There are no data on the excretion of inactivated typhoid vaccine into human milk. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) consider the administration of vaccines compatible with breast-feeding. However, it should be remembered that neonates are too young to be vaccinated and will not be protected against infection.
