Magnesium/potassium/sodium sulfates bowel prep kit has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Magnesium/potassium/sodium sulfates bowel prep kit should be given during pregnancy only when the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks.

There are no data on the excretion of magnesium/potassium/sodium sulfates into human milk. The effect on nursing infants is unknown. The manufacturer recommends caution when administering sodium biphosphate and sodium phosphate to nursing women.
