If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Magnesium Chloride Sustained-Release Tablets while you are pregnant. It is not known if Magnesium Chloride Sustained-Release Tablets is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Magnesium chloride Pregnancy Warnings
Magnesium chloride has not been assigned to a pregnancy category by the FDA. Magnesium is considered a nutritional supplement.
Magnesium chloride Lactation Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of magnesium chloride into human milk. Data from a related drug, magnesium sulfate, reveal that magnesium is excreted into human milk. There are no reports of adverse events in nursing infants whose mothers are using magnesium products. The American Academy of Pediatrics considers magnesium sulfate (no mention of magnesium chloride) to be compatible with breast-feeding.
