Overview
If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Lidocaine/Tetracaine Patch while you are pregnant. Lidocaine/Tetracaine Patch is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Lidocaine/Tetracaine Patch, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Lidocaine / tetracaine topical Pregnancy Warnings
Lidocaine-tetracaine topical has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetotoxicity following administration of up to 6.6 times the human dose. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Lidocaine-tetracaine topical is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Lidocaine / tetracaine topical Breastfeeding Warnings
Lidocaine is excreted into human milk. There are no data on the excretion of tetracaine into human milk. The effects in the nursing infant are unknown. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering lidocaine-tetracaine topical to nursing women.
