If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Entacapone while you are pregnant. It is not known if Entacapone is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Entacapone , check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Entacapone Pregnancy Warnings
Entacapone has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed evidence of increased frequencies of abortions, late/total resorptions, decreased fetal weights, and an increased incidence of fetal eye anomalies (macrophthalmia, microphthalmia, and anophthalmia). There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Entacapone should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Entacapone Lactation Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of entacapone into human milk.
Animal studies have reported that entacapone has been excreted into maternal milk.
