Calcipotriene topical Pregnancy Warnings
Calcipotriene topical has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies using oral doses of 54 mcg/kg/day have revealed evidence of skeletal abnormalities, consisting of enlarged fontanelles and extra ribs. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Calcipotriene is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Calcipotriene topical Breastfeeding Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of calcipotriene topical into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering calcipotriene topical to nursing women.
