Amphotericin B liposomal has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetal harm. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Amphotericin B liposomal should be given during pregnancy only when benefit outweighs risk.

There are no data on the excretion of amphotericin B liposomal into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that due to the potential for serious adverse effects in a nursing infant, a decision should be made to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug, taking into consideration the importance of the drug to the woman.
