This drug should be used during pregnancy only if the benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus.

US FDA pregnancy category: Not formally assigned to a pregnancy category.

Comment: Some experts state that use should be avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy and in women of childbearing potential who are not using contraception.

There are insufficient data in animal studies regarding the effects of this drug on pregnancy, embryofetal development, parturition, and/or postnatal development. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
