Alamast is taken to prevent the itchy eyes caused by allergies such as hay fever.
Most important fact about Pemirolast
Alamast does not provide immediate relief. It may take a few days or as much as 4 weeks for the medication to start working.
How should you take Pemirolast?
Use Alamast solution only in the eyes; never swallow it. Be careful to keep the dropper tip from touching the eyelid or surrounding areas when administering Pemirolast.
If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before administering the eye drops and wait 10 minutes before re-inserting them.
--If you miss a dose...
Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. Never take 2 doses at the same time.

Store at room temperature. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
What side effects may occur?
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Alamast.
- More common side effects may include:
Allergy, back pain, bronchitis, burning eyes, cough, dry eyes, eye discomfort, fever, flu-like symptoms, headache, menstrual pain, nasal congestion, sinus inflammation, sneezing, stuffy or runny nose

Do not take Alamast if you have ever had an allergic reaction to it.
Special warnings about Pemirolast
Do not use Alamast if your eye irritation is caused by your contact lenses. Do not wear a lens if the eye is red.
Possible food and drug interactions when taking Pemirolast
No interactions have been reported.
Special information if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
The possibility of harm to the developing baby has not been completely ruled out. Before using Alamast, let your doctor know if you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant.
It is not known whether Alamast appears in breast milk. If you plan to breast feed, discuss your medication options with your doctor.
Recommended dosage
ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 3
The recommended dosage is 1 or 2 drops in each affected eye 4 times a day. Alamast has not been evaluated in children under the age of 3.
Overdosage
There has been no experience with Alamast overdose. However, any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.
