Pharma Bloggers Challenge “the Girl from Google”, Critique Relationship Between Pfizer and CROs
NEWTOWN, Pa, July 6, 2007 – The July 4th holiday slowed the pace of pharmaceutical blogs this week, but several interesting items emerged. John Mack at the Pharma Marketing Blog criticized a presentation made by a Google account representative while Ed Silverman at Pharmalot and other bloggers question the ethics of Pfizer demanding exclusivity from research sites. Dr. Robert Goldberg of DrugWonks challenges a WHO researcher’s discovery of a seeming risk association with cholesterol drugs. Christiane Truelove, editor of Med Ad News and R&D Directions, summarizes the thoughts of popular industry bloggers on these topics.
Some of the points Ms. Truelove highlights in this week’s PharmaBlogs eNewsletter:
- Mr. Mack contests a presentation made by the “Girl from Google” for using a theoretical example that if employed in real life would have violated FDA regulations.
- In light of the Pfizer ultimatum on research sites, Mr. Silverman is conducting a poll asking readers whether they believe that CROs investing in the development of a drug is a conflict of interest.
