Frontline Medical Communications collaborates with Liberate Ideas Inc.
to provide pharmaceutical industry with game-changing Patient Visit Record (PVR)
Parsippany, NJ – October 10, 2013 – A unique collaboration between Frontline Medical Communications and Liberate Ideas Inc., developer of the first-of-its-kind healthcare education and adherence platform called Liberate Health™, will offer a complete patient point-of-care “closed loop” relationship between healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients and pharmaceutical industry sponsors, the two companies announced today.
The initiative will see Frontline provide sales, marketing and communication support as the Liberate Ideas team executes its vision to be the “preeminent educational platform HCPs rely on to educate their patients, drive adherence and optimize outcomes.”
As a new media channel, Liberate Health creates Infographics to optimize the impact of the HCP/patient interaction, advance the educational experience and overcome the limitations of traditional patient communications. It is an iOS based platform for HCPs to educate their patients at point-of-care. These infographics are incorporated into a recorded audio of the patient visit, which the physician then emails a link for the patient—and/or caregiver and family-- to review again online. Infographics have proven to help patients understand their treatment and help with patient compliance. At the same time, the program is designed as a multi-sponsored solution, providing the teaching assets and adherence programs of all sponsors to create an aggregated content resource for HCPs and their patients.
“In a market when we are constantly trying to identify and deliver ‘the next big thing’ for our clients, Liberate Health is a stunning platform that is a clear win-win—improving patient outcomes while directly placing sponsors’ educational content in front of every HCP user,” said Alan Imoff, CEO, IMNG Medical Media, a division of Frontline Medical Communications.
“By tapping into our vast network of over 1.2 million physicians and healthcare professionals through market-leading digital, live, and print medical-specialty brands, providing nearly incomparable engaged digital reach of more than half a million monthly unique visitors, we’ll assist Liberate Health in creating awareness and promoting this valuable resource to HCPs. This is a game-changer and we’re excited to share this unique sponsor opportunity with our clients.”
Liberate’s CEO Richard Nordstrom notes that Liberate Health is “the world’s first patient visit record (PVR) that supports physicians by delivering visual learning tools that are proven, powerful reinforcements to comprehension. Healthcare literacy has an enormous impact on healthcare cost in the US and too often patients forget important information their doctors tell them with the result being poor adherence, reduced outcomes and billions of dollars in extra cost to the system. Liberate Health provides an easy way for the doctor’s discussion to be reviewed and more clearly understood after the patient leaves the office.”
“Liberate Health will promote better communication and understanding with the patient during the most important time in their healthcare journey and that is the office visit. Liberate Health will help improve adherence by connecting post-visit with the patient, and provide HIPAA compliant privacy and security throughout the process. And it virtually pulls the sponsor into the entire experience – not as an advertiser – but as a content provider delivering value beyond the pill.”
Liberate Health reinforces the original meaning of the word “doctor”—to teach. “You can’t underestimate the value of teaching”— “especially as we try and empower patients to manage their own health,” Co-Founder Dr. John Reeves said.
Liberate Health rollout to primary care and select specialist groups will begin in November. In addition, healthcare professionals such as pharmacists and nurse practitioners, and physician assistants will be engaged because of their increasingly important primary role in driving positive health outcomes.
