This study is to assess the effectiveness of a drug taken once daily with the evening meal compared to placebo in reducing the average daily pain score in people with pain from shingles.

This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication for type 2 diabetes. You may qualify if you are aged 18 to 85, have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least four months, and are taking metformin to treat diabetes.
