Eliquis is used in the treatment of prevention of thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation; deep vein thrombosis; pulmonary embolism; deep vein thrombosis, prophylaxis; deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis after hip replacement surgery (and more), and belongs to the drug class factor Xa inhibitors. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Eliquis 2.5 mg is not subject to the Controlled Substances Act.
