Do I need to be worried???? My daughter was supposed to be getting off roxy and methadone and doc gave 8 mg subutex. She took it after about four hours from when she took last opiate. For some reason she decided to take 30 mg methadone about 45 minutes later. She said it was because she was feeling like she was going through withdrawals. She thinks that with subutex it won't throw you into withdrawal if you don't wait after taking other opiates, but with suboxone, it will put you into withdrawals. Now she's shaky, tired, cold and jerky. Says she feels like she's going thru withdrawals, hurting, feels weird. she's really out of it....is she safe right now? -
I am not a doctor, im only replying with the knowledge i have. Subutex is Bupenorphrine, Bupenorphrine pushes all the other opiates/opiods, including methadone off of the brain, it will shock the body, and force a withdrawal. a lot of people think because its not suboxone(doesnt have naloxone in it) that it wont force a withdrawal, unfortunately thats a misguided way of thinking. 4 hours was way to soon, and taking the methadone was probably just a waste. She will probably be fine, just she wont be happy for the next few hours, at least -
I'm not a Dr. nor a sub specialist but it sounds like she put herself into precipitated withdrawal and will probably need to be reinducted on the sub. -
Thanks to you for answering. She does seem better this morning....still doesn't feel great, but better. I showed her your posts....no more thinking that she can take opiates and subutex together...yeah -
its no problem glad shes feeling at least a little better
