Default What's the little pill inside Alavert D?

Hello. I tried to split an Alavert D-12 hr (Loratadine and pseudoephedrine, extended relief) and found a tiny white pill inside. This small pill was round (like a clock face, not round like a baseball). Will someone tell me what this small pill is? A google search turned up no information. Thank you.

Since your pill is a combo of two drugs, it could be one of the drugs separated from the other. Or more likely since it is a 12 hour pill (extended release) the smaller part is the actual time release mechanism that allows the pill to emit the drug into your system over time (after the initial "layer" of drug has worn off).

These are two "guesses" for now, I'll try and find more definate info.

In the mean time if you would like a better answer or if we can't find more info, contact the mfg. Wyeth at:

I appreciate your help. Would never have thought of that. I just assumed it was either the Loratadine or the pseudophedrine. Interesting, and thanks.
