Default square pink/purple pill

My mom was recently hospitalized with a total knee replacement. They discontinued the morphine pump the day after and brought her what they said were percocet. The pills were small, square, and pink/purple. She does not recall any markings but didn't look closely. She experienced NO pain relief for two days while on these pills. On discharge she was prescribed percocet and received white, round pills. Does anyone know what the square pill is?

Thanks, Donna

The pink pill could be a darvocet, but what is the imprint on it. Without that it's just a shot in the dark.

Is it possible the pink/purple pill was a sedative?
