my friend had these pills that were supposed to be oxycontin 80 mg but they are a different kind than he's used to seeing and i was just wanting to make sure it is really what he thinks it is. its a green pill(same color as the other 80's) with 960 on one side and MRK on the other. thanks.

this could be a generic form of oxycontin and a different manufacturer than before. you can refer to a PDR, pill identifier or your local pharmacist

You might want to look up the drug under oxycodone extended release instead of oxycontin. Also, what shape is the pill? round or oval?

The pill is Cozaar 100 mg, a drug that lowers blood pressure.

This is a big BRAND NAME med. The imprint MRK stands for Merck. As far as I know, Merck doesn't make oxycodone in any way, shape or form.
