Default norco

hello i am new to the fourum, but i have a question about norco, my pill is yellow in color, it is oblong "oval" with a "v" imprint on one side, and the numbers 36/01 on the other, this is generic i believe, and i guess my question is, the company that makes this med. are they considered decent, because i took a couple so far, and the 1st two i took like prescribed, and i felt little to nothing at all, but the 3rd one i took, almost made me sick it hit me so hard, all of these pills are from the same bottle, but is it possible, that the amount of meds... can be different, from one pill to the next, in the generic form?..... sorry for the long message and if you can help ... thanx!

MY way... is just to keep it simple, and did you know, when you live worry free, you live longer!

Your pill is made by Qualitest (Vintage) Pharmaceuticals, and I've found them very reliable, and most generic hydrocodone to be roughly the same, I think Lortab may be slightly weaker, but that's just my opinion. Pills from the same lot always seem the same to me.
I urge you to read Zippy's post here, I tend to agree with her.

thanx for the info, i did indeed read the other post you reffered me to on the other forum, discussing, generic meds, seeing as i have never took the "real" med.... i want to know, is watson a true lortab, or would the pill, actually say lortab on it, the blue watson 10/500 hydrocodone, seems to work better for me, but i wanna know, if in anyones opinion, is different, because at times, norco seems to have more of a stronger affect on me than the watson, lortab , but norco seems to have a shorter life, are these two, pretty close in anyones opinion, or is it just me, thanx again for the responce i got on the 1st post

Lortab is UCB Pharma's brand name
Norco is Watson Pharmaceuticals brand name for their hydro/apap 325mg
Your blue 10/500 I assume Watson 540 is generic for Lortab 10
Lortab 10 are pink/oblong/ucb910

Everybody's different some pills do seem to work better for some, the dif in strength you notice may be the extra apap, a type of placebo effect, maybe a slightly higher titer, et al.

From my personal experience using a dozen different hydro 10's I find them highly consistant, with the possible exception of the Watson 540 that you like.

I was just curious, how does one go about reading these measurements, and what do they mean in terms of mg's?

1)- 5/500 = ??mg's?
2)- 10/500 = ??mg's?

and is this something new, (when I say new, I mean within the past 10 years) because I don't remember ever seeing this type of measurements on my older med bottles.

Thanks

Treat others as you want to be treated. It's really just that simple.

Hi X - the numbers stand for the mg's of each of the active ingredients in the pill - 5/500 = 5mg Hydrocodone 500mg acetaminophen in this case. 10/500 same thing 10mg Hydrocodone 500mg acetaminophen. Not sure if this is something new on the labeling or not but due to the varying strengths of combo medications it gives the amount of each.
